                                                     Inspection and supervision of export eps

Expandable polystyrene (expandable polystyrene, abbreviated as EPS) is a kind of expandable foam composed of polystyrene and containing 5% to 8% of high volatility and low boiling hydrocarbon (mainly pentane) blowing agent. beads. The appearance is white or colorless transparent bead-like particles.

Part 1    Uses of Expandable Polystyrene
Expandable polystyrene has been widely used in many fields due to its excellent and durable thermal insulation, unique cushioning and shock resistance, aging resistance and water resistance. Household appliances such as refrigerators, civil light industrial products such as ceramic products, seafood freezing, vegetable preservation, cold storage, railways, municipal construction, etc. are all inseparable from EPS sheets and packaging products.

Part 2    Dangers of Expandable Polystyrene
Pentane is a highly flammable liquid with a flash point of -49°C, an autoignition temperature of 260°C, an explosion limit of 1.5% to 7.8%, and a relative density of 0.63 (water=1). The extremely low flash point and explosive concentration determine that pentane is highly flammable and explosive, and may explode when heated, which increases the transportation risk of expandable polystyrene.

Part3    Whether  is a hazardous chemical
my country has listed expandable polystyrene as a hazardous chemical in item 1228 of the "Inventory of Hazardous Chemicals" (2015 Edition), and its hazardous characteristics are Class I flammable solids.
According to the United Nations' "Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods", which is a common international dangerous goods specification, expandable polystyrene is listed as dangerous goods, and the UN number is UN2211, which belongs to the 9th category of miscellaneous dangerous goods and articles, including environmentally hazardous substances. , and the transportation package shall adopt Class III packaging.

Part 4    Inspection regulatory requirements
1. Main ingredients/component information, physical and chemical properties, hazard categories, etc. of the product;
2. Whether there are hazard publicity labels on the product packaging (imported products should have Chinese hazard publicity labels), and whether a safety data sheet is attached (imported products should be accompanied by a Chinese safety data sheet);
3. For the packaging used for imported hazardous chemicals, the packaging type, packaging mark, packaging category, packaging specification, unit weight, packaging usage status, etc. shall be inspected;
4. For the packaging of export hazardous chemicals, the performance inspection and use appraisal shall be carried out in accordance with the regulations and standards on the inspection and management of export dangerous goods packaging by sea, air, road, and rail, and the "Performance Inspection Result Sheet for Outbound Goods Transport Packaging" and " Outbound Dangerous Goods Transport Packaging Use Identification Result Sheet".
